“In essence, if we want to direct our lives, we must take control of our consistent actions. It’s not what we do once in a while that shapes our lives, but what we do consistently.”
True words. So thought I’d share what I consume consistently and I very much believe (who knows, maybe that’s where the real magic lies, our belief, but hey I digress) it contributes strongly to my overall well being.
Yes, a daily staple. Practically every day I eat, green onions, garlic and carrots. Sometimes fresh ginger joins the party also. Sometimes raw, sometimes sauteed, sometimes slow cooked, but this little trio is always around once a day. We know garlic has some confirmed medicinal properties and very much suspected preventive properties also. I believe that over time, the essence of this plant actually becomes a part of you. The quick fix doesn’t exist. Research the Sardinians and Centenarians from that part of the world all you want. It’s the garlic, it’s the olive oil, it’s the beans… so desperate the research is for uncovering that ONE magic factor, that super ingredient… IT DOESN’T EXIST FOLKS! What does exist is the choice to daily choose foods, exercise/activities AND thoughts that contribute. That’s all. No big whoop. I suspect that those Centenarians ate garlic and onion everyday, they also walked every day, did chores everyday and most likely said a few rosaries throughout the day. Every day… plain simple food, exercise and thoughts (prayers if so inclined) that contribute to keeping you going another day.
Shredded a bit of lettuce for texture and after sauteing the dream team trio (with ginger this time) in a bit of miso paste and coconut oil, I added some ready to go chicken thighs. (cut up your pieces, velvet the chicken and cook in separate pan)
In case you’re dying to know who I quoted at the top of the post…
It’s Mr. Tony Robbins.
