Crockpot Recipe

This one is real easy! You can replace wild boar/pork with chicken or beef.


I had a really nice piece of wild pork loin that I got from my father in law. If you don’t use or see “wild meat” often, it is simply remarkable how different the the meat looks. I won’t even go into the taste experience, because that would not be nice 🙂

I thinly sliced half an onion, 4-5 cloves of garlic and put that on the bottom of the crock. Add two tablespoons of Hatch green chillies (green chillies are perfect also). Drizzle with a bit of spicy olive oil. Next I gave the loin a rub with a bit of salt, pepper and garlic rub I had. Now slice the loin into strips. Next I took a tablespoon of tomato paste and mixed that in with a 1/3 cup water and added it to the crock. Stir gently, set it and forget it. On low for 6-8 hours. Check half way through and if it’s “dry” in your crock, add a few tablespoons of water or broth. I have rice cooling in the fridge (go go RG-RS) so that will accompany the meal made also with a bit of tomato paste and onion. A bit of “Spanish” rice if you will. Tomato and avocado salad will come to play also.

      I had great hopes Natalie… It wasn’t as tasty as I had hoped for. Maybe some coconut milk next time 🙂
